Branches of this plant are circular and are widely spread in all the directions. It is a perennial herb that attains a height up to 1.5 meters. Stem and branches of Ashwagandha are covered with small star shaped hairy structures. The roots of Ashwagandha can be one long tuberous root or may be many. Leaves of Ashwagandha are simple and attain a height of 10 centimeters. It is ovate, petiolate and alternate. The plant flowers throughout the year.
