Causes Of Muscle Spasm
An involuntary contraction of muscle is known as a muscle spasm. It is not same as muscle twitch. It is an uncontrolled movement of the small or fine segment of a larger muscle.

Disease like multiple sclerosis or spinal cord injury can also cause such problem. Muscle spasm occurs due to the overexertion. It especially happens in the warm environment. It is very severe and also last for long time period, and it comes back again and again.

If person had some fluid loss due to illness like fever or vomiting then controlling the symptoms will stop the loss of fluids and help in preventing muscle spasm. People who work or exercise in hot environment should try to drink lots of fluid to keep their body hydrated.
Gently stretching the muscle back to the length to break the spasm cycle and resolves the situation. If person does not get relief then he should go to the doctor to get better and correct treatment. Treatment of the muscle spasm depends on the cause of the muscle spasm. Muscle that is strained or damaged, some medications will be required for short time period.
