They say a picture is worth a thousand words! A few years ago, one look at a ‘typical colon’ illustration of someone who eats a normal western diet was enough to send me off to the drug store to check out their range of colon cleansing herbs!
Personally, I don’t like the idea of lying on a table with a pipe up my backside however fashionable it may be! Whilst I have no doubt of the benefits of colonic cleansing, (especially living in Malaysia where everywhere you turn there are advertisements for spa’s and clinics offering to clear you out), coffee enemas and the like are not for me!

Anyone with a stressful lifestyle or years of eating a typical western diet of low fibre, high fat, sugar products, white flour, microwaved and deep fried foods is likely to have a considerable build up of toxic waste material in the colon. If you are a heavy drinker or have a weakness for coffee, the chances are that you are also at a risk. Such diets reduce our colon’s efficiency, and consequently our waste products harden and become clogged in our digestive system.
