Constipation Symptoms

There are many symptoms of constipation depending upon the severity. This includes…

· Dry bowel movement or defecation
· Difficult bowel movement or defecation
· Dry feces
· Small feces
· Painful bowel movement
· Hard feces
· Nausea or vomiting
· Weight loss due to anorexia.
· Infrequent bowel movements
· Feeling of sluggishness
· Abdominal pain
· Absent bowel movements that is clearly noticed by stethoscope
· Abdominal swelling or bloating
· In children – not eating much, crossing legs, stomachache, mood-loss, not playful.
· If this has cross the normal limits, one can palpitate the stools on the pelvic region. This is most commonly seen in chidren.

Other general symptoms include that the person feels heaviness in abdomen. Even if the stools are passed, one doesn’t feel lightness in the body and there is still sensation of stools remaining inside. Passing stools with difficulties and dry cum hard stools are significant markers. Bloating of the abdomen is not uncommon. Dislike towards food and change in mood are quite common
