Mix together egg yolk, a tablespoon brewer’s yeast and 1 teaspoon sunflower oil into a paste and apply.
Leave it on for 15 minutes and rinse it off with milk. This is especially good for a spotty skin.
Lecithin Mask
Mix together 1-tablespoon lecithin, 2 teaspoons peach (or any fruit juice) and 1 teaspoon wheat germ oil into a paste and apply. Lecithin is very nutritious being a complex substance containing phosphorus and protein, and in found in eggs and soyabeans.
Almond Mask
Mix together 2 teaspoons ground almonds, 1-teaspoon rose water and ½ teaspoon honey into a paste and apply on the face. Leave it on for 15 minutes, and then rinse off with rosewater.
Apple Mask
Put all the below mentioned ingredients into a liquidizer and blend until completely smooth. Apply on the face and leave for 30 minutes, then rinse off.
½ apple (peeled and sliced)
1-tablespoon honey
1-teaspoon ascorbic acid
1 egg yolk
1-tablespoon cider vinegar
3 tablespoons oil
This is one of the most effective recipes for all types of skins. Vinegar restores the acid mantle, apply contains pectin and has a soothing effect. All other contents, i.e., ascorbic acid, honey, egg yolk and oil are highly nutritious for the skin.
No doubt Vitamin D produced by sunrays is necessary for healthy bones, but the worst thing we could do for our skin is to expose it to the sun. The sun’s reaction on the skin is similar to that of age. It dhydrates the skin leaving it thick, leathery, wrinkled, patchy and dry. It is advised to drink three or four glasses of lime water before going out in the sun. There are several easy to make sun tan lotions and creams to face ultra-violet rays.
Oil together the following ingredients in a bottle:
1-cup olive oil (or sesame oil)
½ cup vinegar
1-teaspoon iodine, and a few drops of perfume (lavender)
Oil and Tea Cream
Ingredients:
4 tablespoons lanolin
3 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons almond oil
½ cup strong tea, and perfume
Make strong tea, remove from the heat and strain it. Now melt oils in an enamel bowl over a water bath. Now slowly add the tea and beat continuously with a wooden spoon. Add a perfume when it is cool. Lanolin and almond oil keep the skin moist, sesame oil has the properties to absorb ultra-violet rays. The tannin available in tea also absorbs the sun’s burnings rays.
