  • Some seeds (e.g. sesame seeds) can also trigger an allergic reaction.
  • Peanuts
  • Tree nuts

However, the foods most usually associated with eczema are fish, shellfish, eggs and nuts.

Ayurveda believes that Pitta vardhak aahar (Pitta Dosha aggravating food) should be strictly avoided. This may include various dal (pulses) preparation specially chanaa daal (grams). One has to avoid curds and buttermilk strictly. Amla rasa (sour tasted food or drink) is best for prevention. Decayed and stale foods, packed food, ready-to-eat food are triggers for this.

One has to limit non-vegetarian diet. Smoking and alcohol may worsen the case. Spices, ice-creams and cold drinks are to be given up. Ginger, garlic, onions and those items having strong aroma are to be avoided. Mustard seeds to be best restricted.
