This is loosing hairs anywhere on the head. This is termed as “alopecia”. Alopecia is basically Latin, but can be found to Greek “alopecia”, which itself means alopek – the fox. Literally it refers mange in foxes. This could be due to innumerable causes. There are many types especially alopecia areata or scarring alopecia etc.
Loosing hairs is quite common and natural too. It is obvious that when you comb or take bath, 50-100 hairs go off. This could be natural tendency of the body. But loosing too many hairs even when sitting, sleeping or performing daily routine is labeled as alopecia.
It seems common but challenging diseases affecting almost in age group from young to elderly. Apart from physical deficiency, this impacts on mental status too. One’s physical appearance plays important role in self image. Its general saying that outer appearance doesn’t matter, inner personality is what counts. Is it fully agreeable? Isn’t it that we are judged by how we look. In job interview, first date, meetings, debate or introduction, your first impression comes by the look.
