Though, nowadays a variety of hair conditioners are available in the market, questions have always been raised regarding their

quality and any possible side effects. Fundamentally, hair is composed of a protein – keratin. This protein has a high percentage of amino acids that have positively charge on these. Many hair conditioners contain positive charged anionic substances. This enables these conditioners to remove dirt as well as any natural oils and even required proteins from your hair.

Hair conditioners come in several different types. Apart from getting one from market, you can use homemade hair conditioners for desired results. A few of these are good for dry and rough hair, while others are recommended

for split and poor quality hair. A few more are good to add softness to your hair. Your choice should directly depend on what kind of hair quality you have, and what exactly you want to improve in your hair.

Homemade hair conditioners offer you good quality since you do not use any chemicals for hair. A few widely recommended methods of preparing hair conditioners are listed below.

  • Mix one egg, 1/4 cup real mayonnaise, and 1/4 cup of olive oil and blend these well. You can also take advantage of herbal benefits by adding a few drops of essential oils such as lavender oil or mint oil. Apply this mixture hen your hair are dry. Comb it thoroughly, and let it stay as it is for about 20 minutes. If you are not comfortable, you can cover your hair with a shower cap. Follow this system regularly and you can see shiny, deeply-conditioned hair.
  • Take a large bottle and put half cup each of boiling water and of olive oil into it. Shake the bottle well till the oil is softened. Massage our hair properly using a shower cap. Wrap it in a towel that was soaked in hot water. Leave it for 30 minutes and use a shampoo to rinse it off. This is a very good homemade home conditioner that keeps your hair soft and shiny.
  • Take an egg and beat if until it gets foamy. Add a few drops of baby oil and a cup of water into the egg. Massage it to the scalp and rinse it well. Wash it with a good quality shampoo for soft and shiny hair.
  • You can use rice bran to make a very good hair conditioner. Take 5-6 spoons of wheat bran or rice bran and mix it in some hot water to form a small thin paste. Add a drop of sesame oil and half an avocado. Blend these well and this homemade hair conditioner is a far better option that those available in medical stores. You do not use any chemicals and you can use best quality products to prepare the conditioner. Apply this conditioner on your hair and message properly. Soak a clean towel into boiling water and wrap this towel around your hair. When your hair gets set, shampoo it and rinse with water properly.
  • Mash avocado and mix it with some coconut milk. Apply it on your hair and comb it through. Let it set for 10 -15 minutes. Shampoo it and rinse the hair properly.
  • Take one tablespoon of lemon juice, half teaspoon pf apple cidar vinegar, one ounce olive oil, and one egg yolk. Blend all these together well and use it as hair conditioner for soft and shiny hair.
  • Honey also gives you a good option as a homemade hair conditioner. Take half cup of honey and mix it with 1/4 cup of olive oil. Quickly, apply it through your hair so that it covers all the hair, quite evenly. Use a shower cap to cover your hair for about half an hour. Shampoo it properly and let it dry naturally for soft hair.
  • Take one mashed banana and mix it well with half cup plain honey. Apply this mixture on your wet hair. Keep it there for about 45 minutes before washing it with a good quality shampoo. It is an excellent homemade hair conditioner. Use it twice a week for soft, smooth and healthy hair.

Since many branded hair conditioners claim to give you quality hair that would be soft, shiny and healthy; do not be tempted by the advertisements and their claims if you can afford homemade hair conditioners. These are always preferred since these do not have any side effects. To have healthy hair that retain shine and softness till evening, use natural and homemade hair conditioners rather than falling prey to branded shampoos or conditioners. See if you can visit a hair specialist to seek an opinion on the kind of homemade hair conditioners you have been using.

You can also use herbal air conditioners after reading out the details of ingredients that constitute the product. Generally, herbal conditioners should contain plant based oils, herbal extracts and natural butters.
