Remove Dandruff in a Natural Way

When there appear to be little white flakes on a person’s back or shoulder area, this person’s self esteem will undoubtedly be called

into question. There is the constant wonder of what others will think of a personal appearance of flakes and dull hair. Viewing poor hair quality as a reflection of poor physical health, ayurveda works to treat a person as a whole body functioning system. An understanding exists that sees a hair problem as a whole body problem. One way to improve on this is through the use of dandruff remover.

A lifestyle following the ayurvedic concept of Ahara-Vihar, diet and lifestyle, is essential in maintaining whole body health that includes hair health. Several key factors such as illness, vitamin and mineral deficiencies and poor nutritional habits have an effect on that lifestyle. Poor maintenance of any one of these factors can result in hair health issues such a dandruff and premature graying. For these reasons, ayurveda believes that more is needed to fortify hair maintenance. What goes into the mouth is just as important to hair health as what is placed on the hair.

Ayurveda recommends a healthy diet of wholesome, natural foods to deliver needed nutrients to the hair. Dark leafy greens, broccoli and carrots are just a few essential foods to be included in a nutritional regiment. Spices of

cumin and tumeric aid in transporting nutrients to hair cells and tissues. Along with this, fresh fruits should be added each day. One key component of an ayurvedic diet is the use of fresh coconut. Coconut is an excellent dietary supplement which aids in the correction of any imbalance found in the Pitta dosha, heat principle of the body.

In a hair health issue known as dandruff, white or yellowish flakes form on a person’s dry scalp. Over time, these flakes loosen and being to fall on the shoulder and neck area. One main cause of this condition is a poor dietary regiment. Hormonal imbalances, lack of exercise and excessive hair styling products are also known causes of dandruff. Living in a state of stress can also cause dandruff. This occurs by a build up of tension inside the body. When this occurs, a trigger of excessive sebum secretions is released and causes a build up on the scalp.

An effective dandruff remover treatment can be found in a healthy balance of nutrition and hair care maintenance. A nutritional regiment rich in foods that contain vitamins and minerals is recommended. These provide the hair and scalp with essential nourishment factors. Fruits and vegetables such as cabbage, cucumber, tomato and radish are recommended. When combined with yogurt, high protein foods can be an effective treatment of dandruff without the use of harsh chemicals.

As there are certain types of foods that are ideal in the treatment of dandruff, there are certain foods that a person should shy away from. Main dairy products such as milk and milk based products should be avoided. Likewise, foods high in fat and salt content should not be consumed. Sugar food and seafood are also poor nutritional choices for dandruff sufferers. Citrus fruits such as oranges are another poor nutritional selection for a daily diet.

There are a variety of chemical based dandruff remover treatment shampoos that consist of what is known as F D & C. Also called D & C colour, this chemical is color pigmentation that contain coal tar and metal salts that leave deposits on the skin. This causes irritation and inflammation of skin. In addition, this chemical has been linked to such health problems as asthma, fatigue, nervousness and headaches.

Ayurveda offers a number of herbal remedies for dandruff remover that are not damaging to the hair as chemical based shampoos. Juices made from alfalfa herbs or Bhaang Ganja (Indian hemp) herbs are effective in treating dandruff. Methi (Fenugreek) leaves can be soaked in a water bath overnight. In the morning, the leaves are made into a paste that is applied directly to the scalp. The paste remains on the scalp for the period of one half hour. Following this, it is washed from the scalp using soap nut.

Other effective ayurveda treatment pastes for dandruff are Petha (Ash Gourd). Here the peels and seeds from the gourd are removed and boiled in coconut oil. The mixture is then applied to the scalp in an effort to relieve any dryness found on the scalp. Sandalwood can also be combined with three parts of lemon juice in a glass bottle. This paste mixture is then applied libelously to the scalp area as a rejuvenator.

Ayurveda strives to promote awareness of ways in which whole body lifestyle living can promote whole body health. By watching what is placed in the mouth and what is used on the hair, a person can achieve an effective hair regiment. This will aid in not only having healthy hair but in having healthy living. In addition to these things, a person should be aware of a healthy sleep regiment as well. When improper or irregular sleep patterns are maintained, the effects will show up in the hair’s appearance. Another key factor is the effects of stress management by striving not to live in a constant state of stress. A holistic approach to hair care is the stepping stone to whole body health care.
