
Everybody is interested preventing headache. First and foremost is preventing the cause itself. One has to prevent all the diseases that produce headache. However this may vary from disease to disease there are certain regimens one has to follow to prevent headache.
Disturbance in sleep pattern like, too much sleep, poor quality of sleep, breaks in sleep i.e. frequent awakening at night etc give rise to migraine and tension headache. Fasting may precipitate migraine headaches as they stimulate body to release of stress related hormones and lowering blood sugar. Hence it is advisable for the migraine patient to avoid fasting as much as possible. It is also very well know that bright light works as trigger factor for headache and therefore is to be avoided. This also includes direct exposure to the sun light.
Stop smoking and alcohol as that could be the major cause creating the headache. Never be constipated as the constipation triggers headache. Keep yourself away from the stressful conditions. If possible give up all the arguments and never start it from your side. Don’t get too much emotional which is unnecessary.
Certain environmental changes do bring headache this may include bright or flashing lights, changes in weather, missed meals, increased stress and changes in attitude. Sometimes insomnia or lack of sleep could be the major reason.
