Basics of Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is happening around the world. This is one of those alternate therapies that are becoming increasingly popular across the continents. Of course, everyone likes fragrances. They uplift one’s spirits. Even, you can find some hospitals doing aromatherapy on their patients.
There are many ways through which you can use this therapy for your best advantage. You can find a number of oils in the markets. The best part is that you can practice this therapy by yourself, and do not have to look for any experts or any particular place for this.
Here we are going to discuss some of the blends that can be used for different purposes. Also, you will come to know about certain fundamentals that are essential to derive the maximum benefits from this therapy.
The first and foremost thing is to decide on the group of oils, you want to use. It is not about mixing different types of oils together and taking bath or something like that.
For instance, there is citrus group under which you can take lemon, orange and grapefruit. On the other hand, there is a floral group. As the name suggests, it comprises floral oils such as rose, jasmine, lavender, etc.
Now, it depends on your taste and your requirements. Some people may like these two groups while many would prefer to go for aromas derived from wood such as sandalwood, rosewood, patchouli, so on and so forth.
Apart from these groups, the group formed by peppermint, eucalyptus and rosemary is also very popular these days. Now you can understand which all groups you can combine together. Floral and citrus oils go well, and so does wood and floral. However, you may tend to avoid spicy oils made from black pepper, cinnamon, etc.
At the initial stage, you are not expected to experiment too much with these oils. Generally, people get excited and they try to do too much with these oils. However, it is advisable that you take one group first and preferably that should be mild like those formed by floral ones. These oils can be mixed in your bath water, or can be used for massage as well.
