Beer For Hair Care

Beer is the oldest alcoholic beverage of the world. It is the most commonly consumed beverage also. In the popularity chart of drinks beer comes next after water and tea. It is produced by the brewing and fermentation of cereals.

The most common cereal used for the preparation of beer is malted barley. Wheat maize and rice are also used. The beer is flavored with hops which are a natural preservative also. It makes the beer bitter. Sometimes fruits or herbs are also added in the beer for flavors.

The major component of beer is alcohol. Apart from that beer also contains magnesium, potassium, phosphorous, biotin and vitamin B. It also contains maltose. All these ingredients are especially good for hair. Thus beauty care industry extensively uses beer for hair care.

Biotin is excellent to prevent hair loss and dandruff. Malt gives strength and volume to the hair threads. Vitamin B and maltose add shine to the hair.

Hops contain large quantity of protein. It gives volume to the hair and strengthens the damaged cuticles.

Here are some easy ways to use beer on the hair.

Mix beer and apple cider vinegar in equal parts. Apply it on the head after shampooing the hair well. It is a wonderful conditioner and it will give shine and volume to the hair.

Take one cup of beer and one teaspoon of jojoba oil. Combine the ingredients and then apply to hair. Spread from scalp to ends. Wait for some time. Rinse well.

Take one ounce of distilled water, juice of one lemon, one ounce of beer and two table spoons of vinegar. Mix well. Shampoo the hair first and then apply this mixture to the hair. Let it remain sometime and wash well.

Take one bottle of beer. Let it remain in the open for around eight hours. Then pour into a pot and heat for one minute. Add two teaspoon of honey into it. Stir well. Apply all over the scalp and hair. Let it remain on the hair for some time. This mixture is an excellent moisturizer too. This can be used two times a week.

Remember that beer is not a cleanser. Always use it after shampooing the hair. Use warm water to rinse the hair to get rid of the smell of beer. Actually the smell fades away within a few hours.
