Breast Augmentation Surgery- Increase your bust size
Many women with small breasts feel unhappy and conscious. With a lot of hype going on about silicon breasts ever since the 1960s, large breasts seem to have become a vital beauty asset.
But research tells us that silicon gel breasts are not meant for every woman and some women can go on to develop unusual reactions to them. This is where breast augmentation surgery or mammoplasty with saline or salt water filled silicon implants steps in.
Most surgeons state that not only are saline silicon implants safer in comparison to silicon gel implants but they also do not harden. On the flipside saline implants are not as soft as gel implants and tend to become flat in case of a leakage and require replacement.
Considerations before breast augmentation surgery:
If you have made up your mind to go in for a breast augmentation surgery, you need to gather as much information as possible about its pros and cons. Also, do not have any unrealistic expectations as they will only result in disappointment.
If you have very small, tight skinned breasts, the surgery might help increase the size only slightly and if you have huge breasts, you might notice only a negligible increase in size post surgery despite getting large implants.
How to proceed with breast augmentation surgery?
Your first step will be to update your surgeon on your medical history and report if you’ve ever had any previous surgeries, breast pain or tenderness, cysts or any other disease of the breasts. The doctor will need to look at your breasts and determine whether both your breasts are of the same size and shape or not, measure your skin elasticity and make a note of any scars or deformities.
Prior to surgery photos of your breasts will be clicked from all angles and you will be required to undergo a thorough breast examination. In case, a lump or any other abnormality is detected, further examinations might be ordered.
Preparation and surgery:
You will need to stop taking aspirin and quit smoking at least two weeks prior to surgery. Most breast augmentation surgeries are conducted under general anesthesia. Majority of women prefer the incision to be made below the breast as it causes minimal scarring and eliminates the requirement for a second incision.
Once the surgery is conducted the dressings are removed after 24 hours. A woman is not supposed to smoke for the next few days and should not exercise for up to 3 weeks. With modern day techniques hematomas and infection rarely occur but the woman might experience lack of sensation and discomfort in the breasts.
