Building lean muscle mass, takes a combination of a proper diet in conjunction with a proper workout routine. One of the dietary concerns is getting enough protein. Lean meats, chicken, eggs, and turkey are good choices.
Protein bars and protein shakes are acceptable sources of protein. Whey protein is another good source of protein to add to your diet. A good combination of foods for building lean muscle is 30 percent protein, 20 percent fat, and 50 percent carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are a good source of energy and calories. Eat a large variety of foods, particularly lean meat, vegetables, and fruits.
Tailor your workout around your diet to build lean muscle. Eat six small meals instead of three large meals. This will keep your energy level up throughout the day.
Make sure you get enough rest. This means enough sleep and enough time between workout periods. The resting state is when your body is actually building lean muscle.
Drink plenty of fluids, especially water. Fluids keep you hydrated throughout the day. Water helps flush out toxins from your body.
To build lean muscle you need to lift heavy weights at a high intensity. You really need to push yourself to build lean muscle. You will lose weight if you increase repetitions and workout more often. This is the opposite of what you are looking to achieve. If you want to build lean muscle you want to gain weight in the form of muscle.
To build lean muscle mass you want to workout in a shorter amount of time with higher weights and increased intensity. With a proper diet and workout plan you are on your way to a chiseled lean muscular physique.
