Many people want stronger muscles, but for whatever reason, they’re not keen on working out with weights to accomplish their goal. Here are some exercises intended to build muscle without the use of weights.
First, some basics. Exercises that build muscles without any special equipment include activities like sit-ups and press-ups. Even walking can build some muscle. What matters is not the specific exercise, but the fact that the individual is active and does the exercise regularly. That is when you’ll see results.
Next, be sure to concentrate on specific muscle groups. Muscles always work in pairs, so be sure to work on both muscles, such as biceps and triceps. Building up biceps and triceps without weights isn’t easy, but you still don’t have to invest in barbells and dumbbells or head down to the gym. Instead, you can grab a couple of cans of food and work with them. You can create a heavier weight by putting several cans into a bag.
Male bodybuilders always want to work on their chests so that they can have the appearance of a well-built body. The best way to build up the chest muscles, or pectoral muscles, is to make press-ups harder to do. You can put your feet up on a chair and work at an incline. Be prepared, though; these will make the press-ups a lot harder.
Another major muscle group are those along the shoulders. This muscle group improves during the regular practice of press-ups, especially from inclined press-ups. Pull-ups are another good way to improve shoulders.
Widening your grip so that your body weight is concentrated in the shoulder area leads to the best results. And make no mistake, building strong shoulders is hard work.
Pay close attention to your form while performing these exercises. Don’t rush through them, either. In fact, you might want to consider a routine in which you work on certain muscle groups one day and another group the next. This gives you variety in your training routine so that you will be less likely to get bored. It also helps ensure that you concentrate on form and don’t rush.
You don’t have to invest in gym memberships or heavy equipment to build muscles. You just have to choose the right exercises and do them correctly and faithfully.
