Care Of Dry Skin In Winters
Taking care of dry skin in winter becomes even more difficult as the harsh and cold weather in winter makes your skin rough and drier. You must take care of your skin if you have dry skin.
You must follow the normal skin care routine of cleansing and moisturizing. While cleansing you must take care that you do it gently as rubbing your dry skin can make it rougher. Use an oil based moisturizer for your dry skin in winter.
Apply moisturizer on skin after a bath even when you wash your face. This will retain moisture in your skin and protect it from drying. Oil based moisturizer provide necessary oil to your skin.
Avoid tap water while washing your skin as it may have higher rate of chlorine. High chlorine level in water can damage your skin further and make it irritable.
To keep your skin hydrated, have plenty of water and fluid. It will hydrate your skin from within and protect it from dryness. But take care that it is not over done. Include good fats and oils in your diet. This will keep your skin healthy by providing necessary oils.
Wash your face with Luke warm water and avoid using hot water on your skin. Using hot water can damage your skin further by drying it and causing breakage in skin cells.
Use alcohol free skin care products. Alcohol based products can dry your skin more and can cause irritation. During winter it is important to keep your skin moisture and hydrated all the time.
Use sunscreen of more than SPF 15 while going out. It is believed that during winter you need not use sunscreen, but it is important to apply sunscreen to protect your skin from any damage while going in the sun.
If you get wet, immediately remove wet clothes and shoes as in winter it takes time to get clothes dried. Wet clothes and shoes can make your skin irritable and cause redness and itching. It will lead to further damage, hence avoid it.
When you move out cover yourself well with clothes. Use scarf and gloves so that you are covered properly. Use layer of warm clothes instead of a very warm one. This will help you to remove them according to weather. If you heat yourself more than needed, it can make your skin rough and damaged.
