We are spoiled by all the hair care options available on the market today. Many of us never think to select natural hair products, but we should.

Hair packs for regular hair: To reduce hair loss use a pack made of egg white or plain coconut oil. Apply to the hair for ten to fifteen minutes and then rinse off. This improves the health of your hair and prevents hair loss. Various chemicals and environmental pollution tend to dry out the hair. Therefore it is vital that one maintain hair and replenish lost nutrients. To do so, use a mask made of yogurt and mashed fruit or vegetables. If you use yogurt, be sure to select a plain one, not a flavored or fat free yogurt. Mayonnaise can also be used.

Choose a fruit or vegetable based on the texture of your hair. If you have dry hair, use avocado. If your hair is oily, select either cucumber or watermelon. Those with normal hair can use peaches. To make the pack, cook the fruit or vegetable and mix it well with the yogurt. Then wash your hair before applying the pack. Cover your entire head with the pack and leave it on your hair for ten minutes or so before washing it off. After using the pack, your hair will look soft and shiny. It will also smell great. Use this pack at least once or twice a week.

Hair packs for hair that has been damaged by chemicals: More care needs to be taken for colored hair, straightened hair, or hair that has been extensively exposed to chemicals. The best treatment in this case is a hot oil treatment. Take some oil in a bowl and warm it up. Massage this onto your head using circular motions. Use a comb to spread the oil evenly. Afterwards wrap a towel dipped in warm water around your head. The heat helps your hair absorb the moisture of the oil and leads to softer hair. Leave the treatment on for at least an hour before shampooing it off. If you feel that the oil makes your hair sticky or heavy, you can use a rinse of vinegar and water after washing to remove excess oil.
