Control Diabetes Naturally

Diabetes is the most common nutritional disorder affecting millions of people all over the globe and the situation is all the more alarming with ever increasing cases in recent times. Genetic factors, stress, unhealthy diet, obesity, high calorie intake, lack of physical activity or hormonal disorders are some causes of diabetes.

This is a medical condition characterized by increase in blood sugar which puts the patient at risk of kidney failure, heart stroke etc. Insulin is a hormone secreted by the liver that helps to breakdown sugar to release energy and when there is decline in its production, excess sugar enters into the blood stream causing diabetes. When the blood sugar level exceeds the range 120 mg (fasting) and 160 mg (after meals) the individual is considered to be diabetic.

Natural therapeutics and medications have proved to be very effective in curing this dreaded disease. One aspect to bear in mind is that most of these natural products are to be taken empty stomach before breakfast for better results.

1. Soak about 1 t6bsp of fenugreek seeds in about 250 ml of water and leave it overnight. Make a coarse paste of this mixture. Stain it and consume the solution. Continue with this treatment for 2 months.

2. Consume bitter gourd in raw state or cooked form or blend it into a grinder to have the juice instead.

3. Add 1 tbsp each of turmeric and gooseberry powder in about a glass of water. You can either drink this concoction as it is or add some honey to improve the taste.

4. Boil some fresh leaves of mango tree in water and have it early in the morning before breakfast.

5. Syszygium cumini, a kind of berry has been found to be very useful in curing diabetes. Not only the fruit but also the leaves and seeds are equally beneficial in controlling sugar level. For best results they can be had raw or consumed in the form of juice.
