Causes of diaper rash

The main and foremost cause for diaper rash is moisture in a wet diaper. And it gets worst when it gets the friction. Diaper rash looks like rough and red. Generally, diaper rash causes in older baby around 9 months of age when your kids start eating solid food. From solid food, some acid occurs in their urine. Diaper rash is generally seen at the skin surface of the baby where diaper touches regularly.

Signs of Diaper rash

It is seen as a scaly, red and rough skin of the baby while it is mild. With the severity, it becomes bright red, swollen and spread as a patch all over the skin of bottom beyond the original rash area. If there are bumps and rashes are bright red, then it can be yeast infection as well. If there is pus then it can be bacterial infection.

If there is bumpiness, bright redness, soreness around the affected skin and pus, then you should not wait to see your pediatrician immediately.

Remedies of diaper rash

There are certain home remedies readily available to avoid diaper rash:

You should always change your baby clothes just after the bowel movement and wash that bottom area with warm water. Dry her skin immediately after washing.

Always check your baby’s diaper whether it is soaked with urine or not. If found it wet, change it immediately.

Keep your baby diaper-free for a certain period in a day. Avoid diaper unless it is required very urgently.

Keep handy diaper rash cream and ointment every time.

Try different brand of diaper if your baby is not comfortable with the particular brand you’re using. Baby skin is very sensitive and susceptible to particular perfume or chemicals present in diaper.
