Eliminate Cracked Heals The Natural Way
Cracked heels in plain language may be described as extreme dryness of the feet resulting into crack or crevice like formation on the epidermal layer of heel region. In strict sense, it is not a medical condition but rather an outcome of the inadequate foot care.
Human body on an average sheds millions of dead cells on a daily basis. Proper cleansing routine like scrubbing can remove these cells lying on the surface of the skin. If one ignores the feet for a long time these dead cells along with accumulated grime become highly susceptible to lose moisture and crack eventually.
Medically it is also referred to as heel fissures. These may not pose to have a functional problem as such, however if left unattended for prolonged duration it may lead to deepened cracks, bleeding, and pain and discomfort while walking. Once aggravated, fissures do take a lot of time to heal as the skin is quite thick around the heels. Other causes leading to cracked heels could be deficiency of zinc and fatty acids like omega 3.
With the use of given natural remedies, feet fissure can be cured very conveniently and quickly.
Thoroughly wash and scrub the feet so as to remove both dirt and dead skin. Pat them dry and gently massage few drops of any hydrogenated oil on them. Cover them with a pair of socks.
For best results, this method can be adopted before bedtime. Banana pulp has also been found to show positive effects on cracked heels. Apply this pulp on the affected area and leave it for about ten minutes before rinsing it.
Prepare a natural moisturizing lotion using glycerine and rose water mixed in equal quantities. Cover the feet and let the lotion assimilate in to the skin. This will even out the cracks and soften the skin around the heels.
Intake of flaxseed oil, fish products and green vegetables also help to reduce skin dryness.
