If you are the one who is fond of eating a lot, then digestion could be one issue which you would prefer never to face. However, all of us do experience the digestion problems at one time or the other. There are yet others for whom digestion problem is part of their daily life and they live with it.
There are still some ways, which if applied in our daily lives, can help cure the digestion problems to large extent. Nonetheless, proper medication also become a necessity along with the other prevention techniques, if the problem is anything more than the normal.
One and foremost way to prevent the problem of digestion is to avoid eating too much i.e. more than your body is able to digest. Its a best practice always not to eat to full stomach if you want to avoid the digestion problems.
Food should be chewed properly before being swallowed. Body will not have to do much effort to digest a fully chewed food. It may not be always easy for the inner body components to break the big food pieces into smaller ones. Another thing to be kept in mind for proper chewing of food is to avoid talking while eating. When a person talks while eating at the same time, chances of food being left unchewed is quite high.
Try to eat in a relaxed manner rather than in hurry. If you eat in a rushed manner then it increases the stress level which in turn slows down the digestion. It is suggested always to eat in the peace atmosphere without doing any other activity in parallel like watching TV or reading newspaper because these things also increases the stress level as well diverts the person’s mind from proper chewing of food.
Dinner should be consumed at least 2 hours before going to bed so that body gets enough time to digest the food. Small walk post dinner will help in the process. As far as possible, try to avoid having a heavy food in the night. Better to have it during the day when body gets enough time to digest it.
Needless to say, one should avoid eating junk food as far as possible. If you really need to have it sometimes, then try to have some green raw vegetables like salads etc which can help in digestion
Most of us are in habbit of drinking something cold with the food. This also leads to lots of digestion problems as we all know that it is always easier to dissolve something better in the warm liquid than in cold liquid. Same rule applies here as well.
