Get Relief from Constipation




Constipation is characterized by the type of bowel movement. It means when you have hard, dry and rare bowel movement then it is considered as constipation. Usually, constipated people have two or three bowel movements in a week. Thus, it is seen that persons with constipation problem can not clear their bowel on regular basis.

Though this problem gives real irritation to the people and highly affects their daily life. But it is always curable if we know the reason of it.

Causes of Constipation

Thus, most prevalent reason for constipation is eating more junk foods, and when you are lenient about your diet.

Foods aggravate the problem of constipation are:

Fatty foods
Foods containing more sugar
Dairy products
Foods less in fiber quantity
Less juicy fruits or vegetables
More intakes of alcohol and caffeine

These are the main culprits, which trigger constipation and make patient’s life more miserable.

Apart from diet, your sedentary lifestyle adds up more reasons. Lack of exercise in our day-to-day life becomes the cause of constipation.

Certain medicines become the reason for constipation like certain antacids, antidepressants, anticonvulsants, diuretics, drugs for blood pressure problem, and few supplements etc

Few medical conditions can trigger constipation problem. Main medical condition is IBS, which enhances the problem of constipation. Otherwise, certain conditions like stroke, diabetes, hypothyroidism, Parkinson’s disease, Lupus, spinal cord injury, and pregnancy aggravate constipation.  Moreover, with the growing age constipation becomes more prevalent. Stress and depression can lead to chronic constipation. Sometimes sleeping disorder also increases this kind of bowel movement.

Treat Constipation

There are some rules to avoid and treat constipation:

Diet: In the case of diet, you need to be conscious about your intake and incorporate foods, which have more fibers in it.
Try to avoid dairy products while you’re constipated.  Don’t go for easy option of foods and stop eating more processed foods.

Instead, go for more vegetables and fruits. Try fruits which have high quantity of fiber like oranges, apples, guava, pears, peaches, prunes, tangerines, raspberries figs etc. Go for leafy vegetables like cabbage, spinach, cauliflower, broccoli etc.Snack on whole wheat breads, oatmeal, and cereals. Add more beans in your diet. Drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water in day.

Exercise: the way exercise is helpful in reducing weight and strengthening muscle. It is also good for bowel movement.

Routine: Make some routine when you will clean your bowel in a day. Also pay attention to the nature’s call, even if the place and time is not convenient for you.

Laxative: Over the counter laxative is sometimes given to treat constipation. But it is not useful for a lifetime. Thus, ward off use of laxative on regular basis; instead incorporate more fiber rich foods in your diet, which are natural laxative.

Enema: Though painful but to treat chronic constipation enema is given to relieve constipation problem. It is a nozzle inserted though the anus to loosen the rectum.
