Get Rid Of Mouth Ulcers Using Effective Home Remedies
Mouth ulcer may be defined as small circular white/yellow spot occurrence on the inner walls of the oral cavity, gums, tongue, cheek or lips. They cause severe inflammation or burning sensation which leads to much inconvenience to the patient while eating or drinking.
Various factors may be responsible for mouth ulcers, some of which are intake of spicy food, deficiency of vitamin B12, viral infections, heavy smoking, inadequate oral hygiene, tooth bite etc.
Also called as canker sores, they may at times bleed from sudden pressure or rupture. Mouth ulcers may also trigger excess salivation and bad odour. In general, ulcers may take a week or 10 days to heal however severe recurrent apthous ulcer may extend to a longer duration.
There are ample number of remedies to tackle mouth ulcers but herbal medicines are a safest bet. Chew 5 basil leaves twice a day along with some water. Basil leaves contain active curative compounds that not only heal ulcers but also eliminate bad breath. Consuming a glass of mulberry juice has also been found to be equally beneficial in treating oral sores.
Another good home remedy is to massage gums using a mixture of coconut milk with honey three times a day. Peppermint oil is a useful antidote in curing mouth ulcers. Smear few drops of this cooling oil on affected regions of the oral cavity to soothe the inflammation.
One more effective home concoction can be made using 1 tsp coriander seeds and 1 cup water. Boil the contents and let it cool down. Gargle thrice a day to keep ulcers under control. Intake of banana along with curd on a daily basis can heal ulcers in no time.
Turmeric is a natural antiseptic. Sprinkle some turmeric powder on glycerine (1 tsp) and mix contents well. Spread this solution on inflamed ulcers to get respite from pain and burning sensation.
