Herbal Properties Of Ginger

Ginger, scientifically termed as Zingiber officinale, is a pungent root which is used extensively to to cure common human disorders. An effective solution can be prepared using 4 cups water, 2 tsp ginger paste, 2 tsp honey or lemon extract. Boil the water to a boil and add ginger, honey or lemon extract. Boil this mixture for 7 minutes and strain the contents to obtain a potent anti cold remedy. This concoction can be taken two times a day for a hasty recovery from cold symptoms.

Besides curing general symptoms, it also energizes the patient with rejuvenated energy. This spicy root also facilitates digestion process which grows weak due to viral infection. Consume 1-2 small pieces of raw ginger dipped in honey after each meal till fever continues to persist. Flu affected children and even infants above 6 months can be given a delicious mixture of 1 tsp ginger extract and 1 tsp honey.
