Herbal Remedies for Pyorrhea
Pyorrhea, or pus in the teeth, results from bacteria growth on the gums. Symptoms include bad breath, swollen or red gums, pain while eating, recessed gums and bleeding gums. It’s urgent to treat these symptoms immediately, because if left untreated pyorrhea can lead to tooth loss.
Home remedies for Pyorrhea:
Gargle with sesame oil. Swish the oil around in the mouth for about 10 minutes, and then spit it out. Rub lemon juice on the gums. Lemon acts as an antiseptic to reduce bacteria growth. Add a pinch of salt to mustard oil and apply to the gums after brushing. This will help to reduce inflammation.
Mix one teaspoon of ghee with some camphor. Apply this mixture over the gums twice a day. Leave on for a few minutes and then rinse the mouth. Eat oranges. They contain Vitamin C, which will boost the immune system to fight off the gum infection. Rub the orange skins over the gums to reduce pain and swelling.
Massage the gums with a mixture of pepper and salt to reduce symptoms. Grind together gourd leaves, ginger and fig root with some water and then add black pepper and rock salt. Strain the mixture through a cloth, and then gargle with solution.
Rub the gums with Margosa twig soaked in a solution of 200 ml of castor oil, 5 gm of camphor and 100 ml of honey. Burn some pieces of the trunk of a babul tree and collect the coke. Store the coke pieces and use one per day to clean teeth. Add a pinch of salt to the coke piece before brushing teeth with it.
Mix carrot juice and spinach juice in equal amounts and then drink it. Both are rich in Vitamins A, K and C, which boost the immune system. Boil banyan tree bark in water for 30 minutes. Strain the solution and then use the mixture for gargling and mouthwash.
Chew lettuce leaves after every meal to cleanse the gums. Eat the inner thread peel of a banana. Boil some fenugreek seeds in water. Strain the mixture and drink it on a regular basis. Fenugreek reduces inflammation. Eat guava with a pinch of salt to help make strong teeth and gums. Brush your teeth each night before going to bed, as germs breed in the closed mouth during sleep. Rinse the mouth after every meal as well.
