Herbal Remedies To Treat Boils
Infections in the follicles of the hair of the skin cause a skin disease resulting in the eruption of boils. A type of bacterium called Staphylococcus which usually lives on the surface of the skin is the cause of this condition.
Some boils could last awhile and then fade away without being troublesome, while other types are long lasting as well as being irritating and painful. Boils commonly occur under the arms, in the buttocks, shoulders, back and face. At the inception, the area could become soft and red and there could be some itching.
The bacteria that are causing the boils could also mix with white blood cells to form pus. There are several home remedies that will give relief, cure and remove the boils entirely.
Remedies to Use at Home to treat Boils
Onion or garlic juice applied to the boils will cause it to ripen and break to get rid of the pus. A combination of both juices in equal proportions can also be used. One cup of the juice of bitter gourd mixed with a tsp of lime juice, and continuously taken every morning before eating or drinking anything, is an effective cure.
Apply the mixture made of a teaspoon of vinegar, a teaspoon of milk cream, and a little turmeric powder, onto the boils. This causes the boils to ripen without getting infected. Betel leaves known for their healing properties, should be gently heated and coated with castor oil. These should be spread over the boils and covered with a bandage. The leaves should be replaced with fresh ones every few hours.
A paste made of cumin seed mixed with water could be applied and left on the boil through the night. 15 margosa leaves boiled down into a decoction with 500 ml of water to one third of its original quantity should be cooled and then applied on the boils.
Steep some parsley in boiled water till it turns soft and mushy. Make a poultice of the parsley by wrapping it in some clean linen or muslin and then lay it on the boils.
Take some dry pieces of the root of turmeric and roast well. Dissolve the resulting ashes in a cupful of water. After letting it stand for 5 minutes, apply this on the boils. Such a solution causes the boils to ripen and burst.
