Herbal Treatment for Vomiting
Vomiting is an unpleasant sign that something is amiss in the body. Usually vomiting in itself is not serious, but there are certain underlying conditions that require medical attention. If you have no idea why you are vomiting and it does not respond to any of the home remedies listed below, it would be wise to consult a physician. Occasionally, vomiting indicates a serious underlying disorder.
Causes
Some of the most common causes of vomiting are overeating, disease (e.g., appendicitis, cancer), stomach disorders, brain tumors, trauma to the body, and pregnancy.
Symptoms of vomiting
Vomiting involves difficulty eating or drinking, increased saliva production, an increased heart rate, feeling faint or dizzy, and feeling hot or cold (suddenly).
Home remedies
Add sugar to one cup of ginger tea and drink it. Take one teaspoon of onion juice at half hour intervals. Drink one cup of limejuice. Eat one piece of dry bread if the nausea and vomiting is due to alcohol consumption. Drink one cup of cola at room temperature. Add one teaspoon of honey to a glass of water and drink it.
Make a powder from roasted cardamom and add a small amount of honey to it. Ingest to stop vomiting. Blend equal amounts of limejuice and mint juice and add half that amount of ginger juice. Mix in a small amount of honey and drink the mixture to alleviate nausea.
Tips for treating nausea caused by motion sickness
While traveling, chew one clove. Avoid eating greasy food while traveling. You may even want to avoid eating for several hours before you leave on a trip.
Useful diet
After vomiting, drink only fruit juices and water for 12 straight hours. Avoid all solid foods.
After 12 hours of consuming only fruit juices and water, begin adding rice, oatmeal, creamed potatoes, and thin soup to your diet. Slowly work your way back to your normal diet to avoid vomiting.
