If you are looking to combat stress on a day to day basis you need to make some serious changes in your lifestyle and diet pattern. Individuals who are constantly under immense work pressure tend to be more stressed out than those who have adequate time to relax.

Relaxation is the key to fighting stress. You need to loosen up a bit once you’re back from work. Yoga and meditation are highly effective age old remedies that help battle stress. You can always join a yoga or meditation group and start learning stress fighting techniques.

Exercising at least thrice a week for 30 minutes is one of the best ways to keep stress at bay. Regular exercise helps release endorphins in the body that are the body’s natural stress busters and help combat this menace with ease.

Exercising also increases blood circulation, is great for the heart and maintains the overall fitness level of the body. Walking, cycling, swimming, aerobics, jogging and skipping are some forms of exercise that can be done on a daily basis.

Many researchers believe that if you develop a hobby, you can beat stress faster than most other techniques. This is because when you do something you like, you move away from the monotonous schedule of your daily activities and focus on doing something you enjoy.

This refreshes your mind and alleviates stress in a big way. Gardening, dancing, painting and music are some great hobbies that can be developed to beat stress.

If you are not sleeping on time or are stretching yourself almost everyday, chances are that the stress levels of your body will skyrocket. Sleep helps relax and rejuvenate a tired body and mind. Thus, it is essential for you to avoid late nights and hit the bed at the same time everyday.

Diet too plays a vital role in combating stress. Haven’t you heard it like a million times- get your daily dose of vitamins and minerals and whole grains?
