If you are a guy then chances are high for you to feel frustrated because of your slim body. Watching the body builders on TV with their big and strong muscles may make your feelings even worse. The first thing that might come to your mind as a result would be nothing but on how to gain weight so that you too can look muscular.
However, for people who are slim because of genetic reason, it may not be that easy to put some muscles on your body. For others, it can be possible if they try to make some changes in what they eat and how they eat.
Let us undertand what the body will actually need to make that extra fats for you which will help you gain weight. Whatever we eat is actually getting converted into calories and energy for the body which body uses for day to day activities. So first step to gain weight is nothing but to start eating more so that body is still left with lot more unused calories after taking into account all the calories requirement of different daily activities.
For couple of weeks, try to check your daily calories intake by considering what all you eat. Then, start eating more such as you get around 300-500 more calories than what you were previously getting. Even then if you don’t get to see any sign of weight gain, try increasing it further by another 300-500 calories untill you see some positive result.
Another thing which can be effective in this is to change the way you eat. For example, try eating more meals in a day against the regular three big meals. Otherwise, it might be difficult for you to increase the intake because your body may not find it easy to adapt that change all at once.
After you have been able to accomplish the above two techniques, third technique, which may also help you in weight gain is to try some food supplements available in the market. However, same should be taken after consultation with your doctor and an expert as chances are high that these supplements may not suit your body initially. Moreover, one should clearly understand that these are food supplements and not the replacements. So, these are not be taken as an alternative to your normal requires diet but should be consumed as a additional supplement to whatever you are eating as a part of your whole food diet.
One must understand that it is the food or diet which makes a difference in any weight gain or even weight loss programmes. So, no supplement, medicine or exercise will really help if you can not change your dietry habits.
