Pets have always been great companions for many people. Research has shown that interaction with pets tends to reduce stress and fosters positive energy into the lives of their owners.
Dogs are probably the most preferred pets. As compared to other pets they are more manageable if trained properly. Moreover they are highly intelligent and loyal.
Dogs are quite sturdy and do not generally tend to fall sick. However they too can encounter some diseases which are beyond their control. Hotspots are characterized by sore like formation oozing some liquid occurring in a very short span of time say overnight.
They have the tendency to enlarge and cause hair fall in that specified area. Underlying causes for these hotspots is not yet known however heat seems to be the basic reason leading to hotspots as it occurs usually during hot humid summers.
It is advisable to get your pet to a vet at the earliest however you can try this time tested home remedy which is not only safe but also found to be efficacious in treating hotspots without any side effects.
Purchase a pack of sulphur powder and some alcohol from your local pharmacist. Mix these two contents to make a thick paste. Apply this cake on the affected paws and let it dry. It would peel off in the form of flakes.
Continue with this lotion for 2 days and see the fur grow back in the affected areas once the sore heals.
Aloe vera is a natural skin softener. Extract thick gel from the leaves of fresh aloe vera and smear it liberally over ailing paws of your beloved pet. Leave it to dry naturally. Ensure that the pet stays indoors. This soothing gel can be applied 3-4 times in a day for quick results.
Another ingredient that you could use is to apply some coconut oil. Coconut oil has shown to be quite effective in curing sores. Take a few drops of this oil and gently massage it into the affected paws. For best results the process can be repeated before the pet is put to sleep.

Thank you for the tip on treating hot spots. A friend of mine had a lab that went through this some time ago.
