Kegel Exercises for Men

Kegel exercise is as important in men as in women. Kegel exercise is done to tighten the same muscle in men as like women, and this muscle is called pubococcygeus muscle or shortly PC. This muscle is spread like a hammock from the pubic bone to tail bone. The benefit of this muscle is to give support to the pelvis and it also helps to look after the functioning of sphincter muscles.

Why Kegel exercise is important in men?
Kegel exercise has certain health benefits in men thus performing it for every man is every important.

It is helpful to control urinary incontinence
It is beneficial in treating certain problems like pain and swelling in prostate due to the problems like prostatitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia (shortly known as BPH). Otherwise it can be the result of prostate gland inflammation.
It helps to reduce the risk of premature ejaculation in men.
It has certain health benefit to combat any problem related to sex.
Once men practice this exercise regularly they certainly see many improvements in sexual life.

What are the steps to do Kegel Exercises?
Kegel exercise can be divided into three steps, and i.e., first squeeze, then hold and lastly release.

Step prior to start kegel exercise
Before starting with kegel exercise you need to locate the muscle. For that, men need to control their urine flow completely and then you can feel the muscle while tightening. If not found this way, then you can try to find it by inserting finger inside the anus and then you need to hold your finger tight inside the anus. If you can do that easily then you are being able to find the correct muscle. Do not forget to use some lubrication why inserting finger inside the anus.

How to perform Kegel exercise or PC muscle exercise?
First you squeeze and tighten the muscles. Pull inward and pull up both the back passage or anus and bladder outlet or urethra. You lift it up inside the anus and have to stay with that position at least between 1 and 10 second. After that you can release the muscle and relax.

You have to take rest for 10 to 20 seconds and then again you can start.

You can repeat 5 to 10 times short hold and at least 12 times long hold.

Do this exercise on regular basis and do it at least for 5 to 10 minutes for a day

After practicing regularly, you can see many positive changes in you after four to six weeks.

Know to avoid certain things during Kegel

Don’t stop breathing during the exercise
Don’t tighten your tummy during the exercise
Don’t keep your hips and thighs tight

This exercise can easily be done anywhere anytime. But some men require few equipments like Prostate Massager, Peristal etc to do Kegel exercise.
