For the last few decades, laser hair removal has become really popular. Who would not want to get rid of the unwanted hair for good? And laser hair removal is considered as the best method for that.
Even though it is considered safe, but one must consult a doctor before going for such treatment. One needs to know if the skin can take the treatment.
Here it should be mentioned that this is not suitable for sensitive skin. You need to find a good doctor who can perform this treatment. Even though there will be some side effects, but they are temporary and your skin will be back to normal after a few days.
Here are some side effects that can occur during the treatment.
You will face slight pain while the treatment is being done. But there is nothing to worry about, as it will not be too painful. You can always ask for a cream to numb the area before the laser is applied.
The pain will go away when the whole process is done. And the best part is you can get back to your regular activities as soon as you leave the doctors office.
Another side effect of this treatment is swelling or redness. This does last more than a day or two. To get rid of it you can apply aloe gel or ice. Both are equally helpful.
Some patients do complain about burns and blistering. These side effects are rare and very few people go through this problem. Usually this happens if the treatment is done by an inexperienced doctor or the laser is used in a wrong way.
Another reason why one might have such problems is if someone has a tan before going for laser hair removal. On the other hand, people with dark skin color are prone to this side effect, as doctors need to use a strong laser to treat their hair. The best way to treat this problem is to use Vaseline.
Many complain that undergoing this treatment makes the skin either dark or light. This is temporary too. In a few weeks time, the skin color will go back to normal.
