If medical research studies are to be believed, more than two million people are suffering from multiple sclerosis in the world. These numbers show the seriousness of the matter and the fact that the disease of multiple sclerosis is spreading fast – taking several people under its grip.

There might be many people who do not even know that they have been suffering from multiple sclerosis.

It is a myth that people suffering from multiple sclerosis die in an early age and they have very low rate of survival. The disease can be cured with proper planning and care. Multiple sclerosis is not an invincible disease, and if a patient has will there is a way.

One has to make some good changes in diet as well as the overall lifestyle. There are several other myths attached to the disease of multiple sclerosis. Many people say that multiple sclerosis is a genetic disorder and it comes from one’s ancestors. As a matter of fact, multiple sclerosis is not a hereditary disease and this had been proved by modern medical science.

It is due to these myths, a multiple sclerosis patient feels very low and goes into depression. It is important that a multiple sclerosis patient should be given good mental support and motivation to fight the disease.
