A headache can be a real nuisance, particularly if it tends to disrupt your normal life. Herbal remedies:

There are various herbs that can help heal your headache. These include chamomile, calendula, feverfew, gingko biloba, basil, devil’s claw, peppermint, cayenne and dong quai. They can be used in the form of poultices or as herbal teas to combat mild to moderate intensity headaches.

Fuller’s earth pack:

If you are struck by headache caused by heat you can make a paste of fuller’s earth and water and apply it on your forehead. This will cool your head and provide instant relief from the headache.

Lemon to the rescue:

Lemon is highly beneficial for treating headaches particularly those caused due to stress, heat or a hangover. Brew a cup of black tea and add 1 tbsp lemon juice to it and sip it slowly to get quick relief. You can also add 1 tsp lemon juice to half a glass of water along with salt and drink it to combat your headache.

Essential oils:

The essential oils of lavender, marigold, eucalyptus, peppermint and cinnamon can be used to treat stubborn headaches. They must be diluted by adding base oil and used to massage the neck, temples and forehead. This improves blood circulation and relieves stress.
