Natural Ways To Treat Indigestion

Indigestion is a medical condition where in the person experiences discomfort in the abdominal region in the form of heaviness, acidity, gas, inflammation or heartburn. Also known as dyspepsia, it results from inability of the stomach to break down food particles due to inadequate digestive juices. Drink ½ glass of fresh pineapple juice after each meal on a regular basis can prevent indigestion.

Add lemon juice, ginger pulp and honey in the ratio of 1:1:2 to one glass lukewarm water. Stir the mixture and consume it. Avoid this treatment if the person suffers from acid city. Intake of one whole orange or some grapes, twice a day, helps to improve the digestive system. Mix 1 tbsp lemon juice with 1 cup hot water and consume this solution before meals to check acid indigestion.

Apply some ice pack over the abdominal region for 30 minutes after taking meals. Cold hipbaths before bedtime are very effective in treating cases of severe indigestion.

Add one tsp baking soda to half glass water and drink is immediately. This gives instant relief from burning sensation. You can also take one tsp roasted cumin seeds, grind it and sprinkle it over one glass of cold buttermilk. Consume this excellent anti- indigestive tonic to soothe heart burn.

Intake of fresh coriander juice with a pinch of salt every morning keeps the problem of indigestion at bay. Consumption of 1 tsp aniseeds helps patients suffering from indigestion. Also you can crush some fresh ginger along with a pinch of salt. Mix this pulp with water and drink it prior to your meals.
