Overcome Lethargy Naturally




Lethargy in common day to day language may be described as a physical state where a person experiences weakness more than often and lacks the zeal or energy to carry out routine activities such as walking, playing, doing household chores like washing etc.

There may be plenty of reasons behind such a loss of energy levels, lack of sleep or adequate rest, overstress, depression, exhaustion, fatigue, poor nutrition, head injury, high blood pressure, diabetes, hormonal disorders, constipation etc.

Regular symptoms include exhaustion, drowsiness, and tiredness, lack of interest or sluggishness. Specific symptoms may include change in appetite or bowel movement, lack of concentration, body pain and loss of sleep.

Alternative methods have shown positive results in treating lethargy. Some home remedies have been briefly described below:

Prepare some herbal tea using 5 basil leaves, 1 tbsp honey and ½ tbsp lemon extract. This energetic drink is sure to make to come alive with zeal and vigour. Another active booster concoction comprising equal parts of grapefruit and lemon extract can also be taken on a regular basis to keep the spirits up.

Fasting for a day and consuming healthy sprouts, fruits, salads etc will give you all the energy to last you for couple of days by detoxifying the body. A cup of herbal tea made with 4 ounces of Kombucha is more than enough to start your day on an active note with its lasting effects extending to the end of the day as well.

Going for a 15 minute walk to a nearby garden or lawn early morning and evening will expose the body to adequate oxygen and thus rejuvenate your vitality. Consumption of 4 to 6 litres of water is must to maintain the metabolism of the body. Other remedial measures include adequate sleep, regular exercise and healthy diet.
