Quick Ways To Shed Weight




Being overweight is one of the biggest problems faced by a large percentage of the world population. Not only does excess body fat make you look unattractive, but it also makes you an ideal candidate for a number of diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, arthritis, hypertension and cancer.

If you are overweight and are looking for quick ways of shedding all that excess flab, you need to make some serious changes in your lifestyle and eating habits. Most problems related to excess body weight can be traced down to lack of exercise, poor eating habits and increased stress levels.

Quick ways to get in shape:

Eat a hearty breakfast:

Breakfast is considered to be the most important meal of the day but most of us tend to overlook its importance. The first step to quick weight loss is to eat a hearty breakfast rich in all the essential nutrients, low in fat and high in dietary fiber. Your breakfast should also be the heaviest meal of the day as it will keep you full and combat food cravings that make you overeat throughout the day.

Replace unsaturated fats in your diet with saturated fats and eat loads of fresh fruits and vegetables. Oatmeal, barley, whole wheat bread, low fat milk, chicken, eggs and fish should be taken for breakfast.

Drink water:

It is essential for you to drink at least 8 glasses of water to stay healthy. Water flushes out all the toxins from the system, keeps the body hydrated and regulates body temperature. In addition to all this, it also keeps you full and prevents food cravings and enhances metabolism. If you don’t like the bland taste of water, add fresh lime juice to it (without sugar).

Split your meals:

Instead of having the regular three portion meals, a quick way to shed weight is by splitting them into 5 meals a day. Have small size portions of food at regular intervals and make sure that the last two meals are the lightest.

Eat healthy snacks:

Now if you go about munching bags of potato chips and candies and cannot resist the urge to pick up a scrumptious hot dog on the way, you will never be able to lose weight. If at all you end up feeling hungry and need to snack on something, go in for a nutritious salad or whole wheat sandwich. Fruits such as oranges, apples, grapes, pears and plums can be easily carried in your bag or lunch-box.

Stop eating white foods:

These include white rice, sugar, potatoes, corn, refined flour, bananas and refined cereals, all of which should be eliminated from your diet. Replace them with non-refined foods and whole grains and cereals.
