Remedial Treatment at Home for Back Ache
A very common condition found in people is the back ache or lumbago. Symptomized by pain of various degrees from mild to severe, the discomfort is felt in the lower area of the back, and can even be excruciating at times. Difficulty in bending in any direction is experienced and this ailment can affect people of any age, such as those who habitually engage in physical activity. During pregnancy, ladies also suffer from this condition.
Disc disorders, back muscle injuries, lifting heavy objects, strained ligaments are amongst the causes for back ache, which can be treated at home with several natural treatments:
Remedial Treatment at Home for Back Ache
Soak 60 grams of wheat in some water over night. In the morning add 30 grams each of coriander and cuscus to it and 250 ml of milk. Boil this in a pan till it reduces to two thirds of the original quantity. Drinking this brings relief. Three grams each of sugar candy and khas khas grass taken with a glass full of milk daily help alleviate this condition.
A simple but effective method to treat backache is to infuse a tablespoon of honey or glucose with water on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. Two or three cloves of garlic eaten every day is a helpful treatment.
Fry ten garlic cloves in about 60 ml of coconut, sesame or mustard oil to make garlic oil. Strain, cool and massage in to the back for relief. A light massage with mint oil has also been found to be helpful in alleviating the pain.
An infrared lamp or a hot water bottle applied to the area gives immediate relief. Turpentine oil is also a good substance to use for massaging the affected area and obtaining relief. Peel and cut a potato into cubes. Boil and mash the cubes. After they cool somewhat, apply with a bandage on the affected area of the back as a poultice. Extract the juice of a lemon, add salt and take twice daily.
Boil 10 basil leaves in a cup quantity of water till it reduces to half the quantity. Cool and add a quarter teaspoon of salt. Drink this concoction once a day. A gram of dried ginger powder, five cloves and five black pepper corns added to your tea is a simple remedy for tea lovers. You should drink this twice daily. Citrus fruit, strawberries, blueberries, tomatoes and other vitamin C rich food should be increased in your daily intake.
