There are various types of skins such as dry skin, oily skin, normal skin and combination skin. You must select your beauty routine and products based on the type of skin you are blessed with. Your daily skin care essentials must comprise of cleansers, toners, astringent, moisturizer, face mask and night creams.

Cleansing is a must if you are looking to preserve the texture and glow of your skin. It becomes all the more important if you are living in a city surrounded by high pollution levels. The best way to begin cleansing is by taking steam. Pour some hot water in a bowl or use an electric steamer. Add a few drops of an essential oil such as chamomile or lavender and place your face over the steamer. Remember that you should not steam your face for more than 5 minutes in one go.

Investing in good cleansing milk is a wise thing to do. Cleansers help remove dirt and grime from the surface of the skin and also remove all the traces of make up from the face. Apply cleansing milk all over your face and neck massaging in circular motion. Use a damp cotton pad to wipe dry. Follow it up with a face wash and pat dry your face. Apply a good moisturizer to keep your skin soft.

While cleansing your skin at night, you must remember to give it maximum breathing space. Cleanse the skin thoroughly and rinse off using cold water to get rid of any blocked pores. Use a toner along with a freshener such as cold mineral water.  Apply moisturizing cream or a night cream liberally all over your face.

Nourishing your skin daily is also very important. You can select from a variety of face masks to provide ample nourishment to your skin. Face masks help refine the skin texture and are loaded with many active ingredients that help keep the skin in good health. Application of face masks has been around since ancient times to preserve the elasticity and texture of the skin. You can prepare your own face mask to nourish the skin or go in for a readymade face mask exclusively developed according to your skin type.
