Stress seems to have become a regular nuisance in our lives owing to our hectic lifestyle. Most of us are so worked up nowadays that we don’t feel the ill effects of stress immediately.

Learn to relax:

Relaxation exercises lay emphasis on deep breathing and help alleviate stress rather successfully. Whenever you are too caught up and feel the need to de-stress it is best to try relaxing your mind and body.

The good part about these exercises is that they can be performed anywhere and at any point of time. Sit in a comfortable position and preferably dim the lights. Inhale deeply in order to expand your lungs to their maximum capacity.

Hold your breath for 3 seconds and exhale. As you exhale, visualize all the stress and tension expelling from your system. Repeat until you feel a sense of calm surrounding you.

Exercise regularly:

Mild to moderate exercise on a daily basis is essential to ward off stress. It helps keep you in good health and relieves mental tension and strain. Take a 10-15 minute brisk walk everyday to battle stress or join a fitness club or gym for best results.

Manage your time:

One of the most prominent stressors in our lives today is the inability to manage time. Most of us have the bad habit of procrastinating or putting off things until later. This causes all the important tasks to pile up, eventually putting us under undue stress. Thus, it is essential for one to learn to prioritize the tasks based on their level of significance in order to avoid stress.
