Just like any other part of your body, your eyes also remain exposed to various types of infections. The chances of infection go very high particularly at the time when there is a shift in weather. So you will find people suffering form conjunctivitis of eyes mostly during the time when the season enters into rains from summers and similarly when monsoon proceeds towards winters.
Of course, conjunctivitis of eyes is a very irritating and troublesome ailment and you have to close yourself in your house for three to four at the minimum. If you do not take sufficient measures for its proper treatment, the period can go longer than usual. Due to their sensitive nature and tender immune system, children are most prone to conjunctivitis of eyes.
Apart from this, they remain at high risk of acquiring this infection from their schools and playgrounds. Since this ailment is highly contagious and any person coming in close contact with the patient can also pick it up quite easily. So, what should you do to prevent yourself and your family members from this problem? Here are few suggestions that you can always consider.
When you get to know that there is a conjunctivitis outbreak in your society or the city, avoid going to crowded places such as markets, shopping malls, gyms, clubs, hotels, restaurants, concerts, etc. If it is unavoidable to go to a business conference, ensure that you maintain utmost hygiene. With this, we mean that you are supposed to keep yourself safe from dust and other polluting factors.
If any of your family member has already picked up the infection, avoid sharing towels, napkins and other things with the patient. Naturally, you would never like to seclude your family member like this but this is in benefit of all the family members. Children are especially not expected to touch the objects used by the infected person.
Also, ensure that you wash you are washing your eyes with fresh water, at least three times a day. There are some herbal eye drops that can help you to avoid any eye related infections, and you can use them without any inhibitions.
