Traveling During Pregnancy

Pregnancy is neither a disease nor an imprisonment for more than nine months. In fact, it is a period which every woman wants in her life. It is a sacred period under which you are assigned to give birth to a whole new beautiful life.

Gone are the days when pregnant ladies used to sit at their home the moment they became aware of their pregnancy. All grand parents and elders keep showering their suggestions and long list of precautions to be taken care during pregnancy.

Today’s woman is free, liberated and handles every aspect of life in her own way. Especially, working women do not want to take chance and leave their jobs for the entire nine period of pregnancy. You would find many ladies actively participating in their official duties till the last week of the delivery. And while in job, you even have to travel any time.

Well, pregnancy is not a cause of worry in this case but you certainly need to bear a few things in mind. Being happy is always good but being happy go lucky might prove risky to you and to your baby’s well being.

First, if you are about to travel during pregnancy, keep a checklist of necessary stuff ready with you. You certainly need to have access to good food. If you feel that the food you would be served during the flight would not be the right one for you, carry it from your home itself. Stuff your carry bag with packaged juice and some snacks such as biscuits.

The idea is to not to keep your body hungry while traveling. It is not only you but your tiny baby also that needs nutrition inside your body. Lack of nutrition may put both of you under unwanted stress.

Secondly, do not just stick to your seat for hours. Try to move around. This will also help you avoid muscle strain caused due to sitting at one place for long hours. Also, do not be over enthusiastic about your travel during pregnancy and stay calm.

Thirdly, keep your medical file handy with you. You may not require it but will prove to be very beneficial in case you get into a situation of seeking some medical assistance while out of your home town.
