Bacterial growth on the skin causes unpleasant smells from a person, which is commonly called body odour. The idea that sweat and perspiration causes body odour is a misconception. On the contrary it is the build up of accumulated bacteria on the skin that is the cause. This bacterium emanates chemicals which have an unpleasant smell that results in body odour.
However, these bacterial bodies quickly multiply when there is sweat, which is the reason the smell heightened at times of perspiration. The use of deodorants which usually contain toxic chemical substances makes the problem worse. Nevertheless there are effective home remedial measures that can be used to help. Listed below are some natural methods.
Remedial Treatment at Home for Body Odour
Five hundred milligrams of wheat grass taken with a tumbler full of water as you awake each morning helps this condition as the chlorophyll reduces body odour. Baking powder applied under your arms and on your feet also reduces the odour. Some alcohol of white vinegar added to a mug full of water and applied on the armpits while having a bath also lessens the odour.
A refreshing option is to add a little rose water into your bathwater. This will take the place of deodorant and last quite awhile. Applying water mixed with cider vinegar in the armpits cuts off the odours and decreases the pH factor of your skin. It can be applied when bathing. During the summer months when you sweat a lot, you should shower even three times a day if possible.
Two dozen radishes blended into a juice and mixed with a quarter teaspoon of glycerine makes a good home made deodorant. Mix well and store in any spray top bottle in the fridge. Spray under the arms to combat the odour.
Baby talc also can be used under your arm pits in the summer months, rather than deodorant. White vinegar wiped on your under arms with a cotton ball will eliminate your body odour for the day, while the vinegar odour will quickly disappear.
An ounce of water and two drops of tea tree oil can be stored in a bottle with a spray top, to apply as a deodorant. Tea tree is an herb which is anti bacterial which is effective in fighting body odour. Again approximately 10 drops of essential oil mixed into 30 ml of water applied to the armpits also reduces body odour.
