Mosquito bites can easily be taken care of by commercially available formulation as well by using homemade remedies. The quickest way would be to have a commercially available mosquito repellent cream. In that case the only precaution that you have to take is to go through the contents of the cream and ensure that there is no chemical to which you already have allergy.

In tropical conditions such a cream is the best bet as it has the necessary formulations that are most suited to locally prevalent conditions. If for any reasons you don’t want to use the commercial items, here is a long list of homemade preparations to get relief.

Simple treatment at home
There are numerous ways to reduce the irritating and needle like pricking caused by mosquito bites. You may have to try more than one trick to find out which works best for you. Here it goes.

The quickest and the easiest, and perhaps the most economical is to apply a bit of toothpaste on the affected part. Toothpaste is believed to be a mosquito repellent. If you know the area of your body that is most frequently bitten by the mosquitoes, you may apply a thin layer of it on that area as a preventive measure too.

For healing of these bites rubbing of alcohol and ammonia on the affected parts is thought to be helpful. Both these chemicals repel mosquitoes. Add a few drops of these to you bathtub before having a bath. For better results water should be hot.

If you find it too much of an effort to procure alcohol and ammonia there are many alternatives. You may use your mouthwash or a few drops of vinegar. The other options are bleach and even brewed tea with more than average tealeaves.

All the above tricks are generally successful in providing a lot of relief from the itching sensation as a result of the bites.Another very helpful and perhaps the most convenient way is to have a bath with water to which some salt has been dissolved. Apart from giving that much needed relief, it helps to keep the mosquitoes away. Simple application of calamine lotion is effective too.

Another natural product to ease out of the situation is pure eucalyptus oil, which is a very repellant apart from being a healing agent.
