Under Eye Dark Circles

Dark circles are dark blemishes under our eyes. They appear as such because blood vessels under the eyes become visible and cause darkening around eyes. There are many reasons, which can cause dark circles around eyes.

All of us are wary of dark circles as they cause our beautiful face and skin look damp, tired and less attractive. We all worry about getting rid of them. To avoid them or getting rid of them we first need to know the causes, which lead to dark circles around eyes.

Some people have dark circles genetically. It can be seen more in people having fair skin. Another important reason for darkening around eyes is thinning f skin.

Skin around eyes is thinner and with age it becomes even thinner. This makes blood vessels around eyes to be visible and appear as dark circles. Dark circles are also caused due to allergies by air borne substances. Substances such as pollen grain, dust and many others can cause itchy eyes and dark circles.

Fluid retention is one of the most important causes of dark circles around eyes. Heat, thyroid, liver or kidney problems and many other medical conditions can lead to fluid retention under eyes and dilation of blood vessels and hence dark circle. Dehydration can also lead to under eye dark circles.

Anemia or Iron deficiency also causes under eye circles as due to lack of hemoglobin blood vessels appears in a bluish tinge and hence it forms dark circles around eyes. Lack of sleep is another reason. This makes skin pale so skin under eyes look darker.

To avoid dark circles have proper rest. This will freshen up your skin. Drinking enough water is also helpful as it prevents dehydration. Use antioxidants such as tea, blueberries, and onions etc. they relieve stress and hence under eye circles are avoided to an extent.

Having a proper and balanced diet is also good. It helps you to have a proper digestion and good sleep. Avoid too much salt in your diet to avoid water or fluid retention. Vitamin C is also good for skin. Adding Vitamin C to your diet also helps.

For getting rid of dark circles apply cool tea bags on your eyes. Apply cucumber slices or potato slices also help. They cool of the area and thus decrease inflammation.
