Yeast Free Diet For A Healthier You

There are many species of yeast found on almost every organism, of which six are found in the human body. Candida albicans is probably the most common and troublesome of them all and is known to thrive in the damp areas of the body such as the vagina, urinary tract, the mouth and so on.

The bacteria and other microorganisms present in the body feed on yeast and prevent it from flourishing. But many conditions such as high levels of stress, low immunity, fatigue and intake of certain medications can inhibit the growth of these ‘good’ bacteria and result in an outbreak of yeast infections such as candidiasis, vaginitis or thrush.

If the yeast infection hits the digestive tract it can cause gas, bloating and a feeling of fullness even when you haven’t even eaten much food. Thus, it is essential for you to embark upon a yeast free diet that helps check the growth of problematic yeast in the body.

Yeast free diet for combating infection:
Altering your diet is one of the simplest and best ways by means of which you can easily ward off recurring yeast infections and uplift the overall health level of your body. When making modifications in your diet you will need to avoid eating certain foods and increase the consumption of some foods. A yeast free diet works best when adhered to for 4-6 weeks.

Foods to be avoided: Various foods such as processed, starchy foods including cookies, cakes, breads, rolls and candies should be eliminated from the diet. Foods containing vinegar such as mayonnaise, sauces, dips, pickled and canned foods should also be avoided.

All types of cheese, fermented, baked, smoked and dried foods should be removed from the diet. Do not consume alcohol in any form and also avoid sodas, canned fruit juice, chocolates, honey or maple syrup, citrus fruits, potatoes and canned tomatoes.

Foods to eat: All unprocessed and natural foods should be eaten liberally. Green leafy vegetables, fish, lean cuts of meat, poultry, eggs, beans, wholegrain cereals, unprocessed rice, millet, unprocessed nuts, unrefined vegetable oils and non-citrus fruits should be included in the diet.
