The best thing to do is to keep the area clean and dry immedietly after a dirty diaper. The key is not to use wipes because they contain perfumes and may irritate the rash and make it worse. Cleanse the rash with baby wash or a soft soap each diaper change until the rash is gone, letting the rash air dry can help.
At night before the baby goes to sleep apply a diaper rash cream to protect the irritated skin from a soiled diaper, Balmex has worked out the best for my baby.

1. diaper should be fitted properly
2. do not use the diaper for a longer time
3. apply bertolli olive oil on the rashes
4. if possible let the baby's rash be cured then only wear her a diaper.
