Home Remedies for Gingivitis

First and foremost is keeping the oral hygiene. One has to brush regularly with herbal toothpaste and herbal mouthwash.

Take some clove oil and rub it on the gums. It may burn but very good for gingivitis. You can also keep the clove in your mouth and chew slowly. This is one of the good home remedies for gingivitis.

Try to include the toothpaste containing mint, babool, neem, holy basil etc these are very good disinfectant. They not only prevent the infection to spread, but also try to reduce the inflammation. It is an effective remedy for gingivitis.

You can also try with this formula – take one glass of lukewarm water and add a pinch of a salt. Prepare this homemade saline solution. Gargle with this formula twice a day. This may help you in great way reducing the swelling in your mouth. It is also a good home remedy for gingivitis.

One should include the food which is not spicy and oily. This may worsen the case of gingivitis.

Stop taking hard food items. Include food which is soft to chew.

For diet, one should include the foods which contain the low saturated fats.

Include lots of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Prefer the diet rich in fiber and Vitamin C. it is proven that people with Vitamin C deficiency are more prone to have gingivitis.

Avoid sugar, fruit juices, white flour, soft drinks and syrups. One should also restrict chocolates and pastries.

One of the best home remedy for gingivitis is preparing the ‘triphala’ decoction and use it as gargling.

Take two parts of white oak bark herbal powder, one part of myrrh herbal powder, ¾ part peppermint leaves’ powder, 1/8 th part of clove powder. Grind them all and keep it into the air tight jar. Every time in the morning and at night, use this powder in the dosage of one tbsp. Keep this in mouth and rub it on the affected area. In between you spit out, and take another powder. This will be good for treating the gingivitis. This is one of the best home remedies for gingivitis.

3% solution of Hydrogen Peroxide mixed with the water (50% of each) can also be gargled for keep the mouth clean. One has to remember that it should not be consumed inside, just gargle and spit it out.

Another home remedy for gingivitis is dipping your fingers into a solution of baking soda and water. Rub it on your affected area and then brush with herbal toothpaste. Baking sodas helps in healing and also neutralize the acidity of bacteria.

Aloe vera is well known healer and is been used since years. You can put the aloe vera pulp in the mouth and can rub it on the gums. Each time you put some water and gargle it. It is also an useful home remedy for gingivitis.

You should be well supplied of calcium and for that you can take some pills containing calcium.

Smoking worsens the cases of gingivitis.
