How To Treat Psoriasis

[toc]PsoriasisPsoriasis is a complex form of frequently occurring autoimmune disease that is identified by flaky patches and red rashes over the skin. There is no known cure for this disease but many treatments can be employed to reduce its symptoms. Psoriasis actually occurs due to malfunctioning of the immune system, especially abnormal functioning of T cells (type of white blood cells) of the system.

Instead of protecting the body from invaders, the immune system promotes speedy growth of skin cells and inflammation. They are causing the overgrowth and then attacking the area of skin, where patches are formed. Medicines are not much of value in alleviating the symptoms of this disease. But, certain natural ways can be easily tried to treat psoriasis.

Milk thistle, vitamin D, fish oil and evening primrose are known to improve the condition. While choosing the supplements, make sure to choose wisely the ones that do not complicate the other preexisting health problems or offer harmful side effects.

So, one can always do the response testing before, depending on supplements in the long run. Fish oil can be applied directly over the skin to reduce formation or reoccurrence of red patches in many individuals. But, the response may not be equally effective in others.
