One should be careful taking the diet during irregular menstruation. One should be getting enough calcium because the deficiency may result into anxiety, irritability and depression.
Try to include vitamin B6 but it should be taken under medical supervision and in perfect dose. Some research shows magnesium and vitamin E may give good result.
To reduce bloating one can eat potassium rich food like bananas, other fresh fruits, cranberries etc. one should cut down sodium intake to less or equal to 2 gm a day. Excessive sodium may result into the puffiness or swelling over the body. The water should be taken in abandon quantity.
Spicy and junk food is to be avoided. Too much chilly and hot food are to be avoided. One should reduce the intake of non-vegetarian diet. Smoking and alcohol is strictly prohibited. One should avoid packaged food and food or drink containing the preservatives.
Stimulants like strong coffee and tea should be taken in limit. The light diets like corn or rice flakes are to be taken. Fresh fruit juice, green leafy vegetables and cereals in little quantity are advisable.
One can go for chicken soup or vegetable soup with added spices like black pepper or ginger. The combination of cereals and pulses (as in South Indian diet) is good to have.
